Cork Barked Chinese Elm
An attractive variety of this popular species that has the bonus of very rugged craggy bark. This develops after a few years of rapid growth in the ground

Seiju Chinese Elm
A variety that also has rugged bark but also has smaller leaves, making it ideal for shohin and mame.

Hokkaido Chinese Elm
A novelty variety with the smallest leaves imaginable on a tree. These are only a few mm in length. Can make very unusual mame.

Trident Maple
A classic traditional species that is fast growing and easy to develop. From seedlings to air layers and whopping great stumps.

Mountain Maple
A species with a huge number of varieties. Usually grafted as garden centre plants. Most of ours are from seed, cuttings or air layers so there's no ugly graft union and great nebari (root spread).

Japanese Black Pine
Seed imported from Shunka En - Kunio Kobayashi's nursery in Japan. Grown in the traditional way for superior results.

Yew
Classic species for carving deadwood. Japanese and English species. Plants from cuttings and seed.
