Hosta nakaiana

nakaiana is a low growing species with a tightly packed mound of heart-shaped green leaves. A mature mound might well be 32" x12" with 15"-22" scapes. The leaves are dull on top with a slightly shiny surface on the undersides. The margins are wavy and have no corrugation. Farily thin leaves. Flowers are purple with a lighter throat and scapes are proportional to mound size. Make a good edger or rock garden plant and also excellent as an accent plant. Hosta Nakaiana photo
