Can grow to 2 feet tall with a gnarly thick trunk and stems with peeling bark, bearing needle like but quite succulent green leaves. Attractive terminal clusters of flowers appear in summer. They start as small pink flower buds and open to small, bell shaped, pale-pink flowers that can either smell unpleasant or of blackcurrant jelly to different people. Plant in full sun to light shade, in well drained soils and water when drying. This plant is one of the hardiest of Crassula, tolerating temperatures down to 10° F (-12° C)
It grows well indoors. With the attractive branching, peeling bark and bare lower stems it resembles a small tree, which makes it a great succulent accent or bonsai.
