Black Mondo Grass
Ophiopogon planiscapus Nigrescens (Arabicus)
The black form selected in the UK is an extraordinary looking plant with purple-green leaves that turn jet black when grown in full sun and very well-drained soil. Great in a rock garden or raised bed. It also makes a good foil for dwarf rock garden bulbs in spring. Super accent plant in a small pot. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).

Marvelous "Striped Dragon Plant" with densely packed emerald green compact very slim narrow leaves randomly streaked with white/cream/gray varying markedly from one fan to the next. Best grown as an alpine/greenhouse subject.
